During one week in the summer of 2002, more than 34 inches of rain fell in the upper watershed of the Guadalupe River, setting off a torrent of floodwater that carved a perfectly fascinating geological wonder – the Canyon Lake Gorge – out of the earth.
Coleto Creek Park
The Coleto Creek Park and Reservoir, located midway between Victoria and Goliad, is a joint project between Coleto Creek Power and the GBRA. At normal pool elevation it covers 3,100 surface acres with 61 miles of shoreline.
Lake Wood Park
This quiet, scenic campground is approximately 5 miles west of Gonzales off Highway 90-A, on FM 2091 South. GBRA Park Rangers and resident park hosts provide professional management and 24 hour on-site supervision.
Nolte Island Park
GBRA’s Hydro division maintains the Nolte Island Park area adjacent to Lake Nolte in Seguin, between Nolte Dam and the powerhouse. Located just five miles outside of Seguin, Texas on FM 466, Nolte Island Park is one of GBRA’s favored park facilities.
