GBRA to Host Clean Rivers Program Steering Committee Meeting
SEGUIN, TX – The annual meeting of the Guadalupe River Basin Steering Committee is from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) River Annex in Seguin. The steering committee was established as part of the Clean Rivers Program to solicit public input on local water quality concerns.
Each year, GBRA convenes the committee meeting to provide direction for Clean Rivers Program activities in the Guadalupe River Basin, as well as develop and monitor the work plan. Through these efforts, citizens and communities gain a greater appreciation for their natural resources and the importance of making water quality protection a part of their daily lives.
The meeting agenda includes an overview of the Clean Rivers Program, Watershed Protection Plan updates, and a special presentation from GBRA on Native mussels in the Guadalupe River Basin.
Speakers include Elizabeth Edgerton, GBRA, water quality program supervisor; Lee Gudgell, GBRA, aquatic biologist; Sandra Arismendez, The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, water quality monitoring coordinator; Phillip Quast, City of New Braunfels, watershed coordinator; AnnaLee Epps, Texas A&M AgriLife Geronimo and Alligator Creeks, watershed coordinator, among others.
The meeting is open to the public from throughout the Guadalupe River Basin. The GBRA River Annex is at 905 Nolan St. in Seguin.
