An outdoor, hands-on, educational experience reinforcing Earth and Life Science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills at the fifth grade level. All students receive an overview of the Canyon Lake Dam and rotate through educational stations chosen by their teacher. Journals are provided for every student to reinforce what they learn. Stations offered are related to: Weathering, Erosion and Fossils; Biology, Water Lab and Food Chain/Web; Water Quality Testing; Landforms in Watershed; Land Ecosystems – Geocaching; and the Water Cycle. The program fee is $5.00 per student. There is no program fee for Title I schools. Schools must provide their own transportation. The GBRA is currently unable to assist with transportation costs.
